Artist Statement
I never outgrew my dollhouse.
Coming from a broken family, the dollhouse possibly exists and grows with me as an escape. Home for me is split in two worlds, sometimes into two genders. I am interested in the imagined, ideal domestic space and the woman’s place in it. My work allows me to investigate the social construction of gender and family as a social institution to identify the features of a “happy home”.
