Dir bio:I'm from Gilgit Baltistan, a region abundant in culture and stories needing global attention. There's a lack of tech familiarity, especially among women, hindering fields like filmmaking. Witnessing climate change and women's empowerment issues inspired me to highlight local challenges worldwide. I enrolled at KIU, our region's sole university, and began crafting films. Despite being only two females in class, we tackled these issues and I recently placed second in a World Tourism Day film contest. Now, as a final-year student, I aim to amplify our region's stories and empower women. I also founded an organization called SHEleads through which I spotlight successful females, teach storytelling to local businesses led by females and preserve our culture through films. Familiarizing with technology is crucial for addressing our challenges. My goal is to showcase voices of Gilgit Baltistan's hardworking people and stunning landscapes to the world.
