Ali is a Producer and Cinematographer at Soch Media, a digital media platform which specialises in producing media focused on documenting and explaining underreported content from across Pakistan and the Global South. Quetta-born and now based in Karachi, Ali has produced and directed multiple short films and documentaries, including the award winning short fiction film, "Father's Grave". Most recently he completed the development of his first feature film within the framework of the IFBA 2021 Busan Asian Film School. His short documentary "In Zainab's Heaven", which is currently in production, has been awarded the Hot Docs Cross Currents International Doc Fund.
