Doprujhiri The tale of a small community living in the hillside area of Bangladesh. This village is named after a stream of water that flows next to the village and provides fresh water. People of this village share an intrinsic relationship with the surrounding. Ethnically, people living in this village are known as the Mro people - a minor indigenous community. This community used to be completely totally self-sufficient. The sustainability of their survival relies heavily on maintaining a balance with nature and they were very good at it. Knowing which line is not to be trespassed is crucial. But gradually the bonding between the nature and this community is fading away as the nature is being exploited hurriedly. The stones that maintain the flow of water of the stream are getting stolen. The trees are being cut down on large scale. Now, the villagers are forced to rely more and more on the outside world and the harmony that has been there for a long time is disappearing. Climate change has many faces and its impact is multi folded. When it comes down to climate change many avenues can be taken. Doprujhiri explores the abrupt human intervention and how it may disrupt age old way of living. Focusing on the struggle of a small community Doprujhiri depicts the immediate aftermath of the alarming practice of ruining the biodiversity and nature-human bonding.
