Dir Bio: Nirmal Bano is a screenwriter based in Lahore. She has developed the screenplays for Zindagi Tamasha
(2019), Gunjal (2023) and Roshan Raahein (2024). She has also taught multiple film theory and history courses at
the National College of Arts. The 'republic of wailing trees' is her first short film as a director.
