Suman is a filmmaker, presently living in Mumbai, India. His debut Oscar® Qualified short film ‘The Silent echo’ has won the 'Best Short of the Festival’ at the Raindance Film Festival, ‘Asian New Wave Award’ at the Kaohsiung Film Festival, ‘Best Film’ & ‘Best Cinematography’ at the ‘Critic’s Choice Award’ by Film Critic’s Guild, India. The film traveled to more than 75 festivals across the World including Holly Shorts, Winterthur, Rhode Island, and Tampere to name a few, and won 15 major awards. It has secured distribution deals with HBO, and Cathay Pacific Airlines, screened on Omeleto, Rhode Island PBS, and prestigious institutes like Kaohsiung Film Archive, SRFTI, Taipei Film and Audiovisual Institute, Kieslowski Film School. His second short film, 'Cry Me A River’ set in Taiwan, received the grant of the Taichung City Government. He is in the pre-production of his feature film 'Eka (Solo)'. It was part of NFDC Film Bazaar, Torino Film Lab Next, La Fabrique cinéma de l'Institut francais, Festival du Nouveau Marché, Tokyo Gap Financing Market and TCCF at Taiwan. The film is an India-France-Taiwan co-production, received Aide aux cinémas du monde by the CNC. Suman was a part of the international short film jury of the Cinekid Festival.
